Crawdads and Ribs – Special Menu for Friday and Saturday

We have a special menu set up for this weekend.

A little bit of New Orleans flavor.

I wanted to offer it for Mardi Gras – Fat Tuesday.  A few weeks ago.

But after the New Orleans Saints won the Super Bowl, the party was on all over Louisiana.

And apparently there are only so many crawdads floating around in the bayous.

Yankees and Northerners like us here in SoCal naturally are at the back of the line when it comes to rationing out the supply.

But not to worry!  The party eventually wound down, and the bayou lobsters, prolific multipliers that they are, are now available to folks outside of Cajun country.

So we put ’em on the menu.  As a classic New orleans style Etouffee – i.e. smothered Crawdads.  Very tasty crawdads napped in a super flavorful light roux sauce.  Served over dirty rice.

With some real Cajun style crawdad beignets on the side – light puffy deep fried balls of crawdad flavor.

Naturally, we understand that soem do not care for seafood, no matter how special it’s origin.

So pork spare ribs are on the menu as well.  Beautifully braised with apples and white wine.  Glazed to perfection with a balsamic syrup.  Served with some white beans and dirty rice.

You can get either one, or a combo plate with both crawdads and ribs.

Along with some salad, house made sour dough bread, and a light dessert.
