Thanks everyone who came last Friday evening to the ‘Tapas and Spanish Wine Tasting Dinner Redux’!

I think it was our best wine tasting dinner so far.

Aside from the Chorizo Meatbals coming out a bit flat (very tasty, but not very round), every dish seemed to have worked.

Clear favorites were the Lamb Meatballs in Sherry Tomato Sauce, the Chocolate Custard with Citrus Cloud, the Roasewater Gelee with Beet and Strawberry Granita, and the Lobster Risotto.

As always, the croquettes, so common in Spain and other parts of Europe, were a well recieved surprise here.  Espacially the Date and Blue Cheese Croquettes.

And the wines got very good reviews as well.  The Tinto Figuero Tempranillo and the Brandal Barrica were the two favorites among some very excellent wines.

And we were sold out for the second wine tasting dinner in a row!   Good news in such a miserable economy!

We will be doing another wine tasting dinner the last Friday in September- i.e. the 25th.  The theme is tending towards Australian wines and flavors.
