Diversity of flavors in the mouth that give good depth and marry well with the sweet complexity of refined oak.
GRAPES: Mainly Viura, with a small percentage of Malvasia (Rioja’s finest varieties for white wines).

BASA 2007, RUEDA
The Verdejo, Viura and Sauvignon Blanc blend has year after year been
named one of Spain’s and the world’s great white wine values. The
intense floral aromatics, freshness and wonderful texture are the result
of the high elevation plantings in lime and gravel soils, with good
drainage, that give rise to some of the best quality white wine grapes in
Spain.
“Everyone’s favorite summer sipper is as good as ever in 2007. It’s 50%
Verdego, 40% Viura and 10% Sauvignon Blanc, and all thrown together
you get a ton of steely citrus and mineral aromas and flavors adding up
to endless refreshment possibilities. Spritzy, zesty and a perennial
bargain among aromatic whites.” 89 + Best Buy, Wine Enthusiast,
June 2008
“Pear, apple and cut grass on the nose, with a suave floral quality. Lightbodied and refreshingly bitter, displaying crisp citrus and orchard fruit flavors and a gentle mineral bite. Finishes clean, with good lift and
persistence.” 88 Tanzer, September/October 2008
MARQUES DE CACERES 2007 ROSÉ
DESCRIPTION Pale strawberry red color. Charming, lively bouquet with pleasant notes of strawberries and blueberries and a slight depth of fragrant flowers in the background. Very balanced in the mouth, full yet refined, with rich fruit flavors that linger on the palate. An exquisite rosé that will delight your taste buds at any time of the day.
GRAPES: 80% TEMPRANILLO; 20% GARNACHA selected from the highest slopes in Rioja Alta.
PRODUCTION: The grapes are macerated for several hours after which the must separates from the skins, oozing out to begin the slow process of alcoholic fermentation at low temperatures in stainless steel tanks. The wine is then stabilized by refrigeration treatment. This type of wine is not aged in oak.

DEHESA GAGO 2007, TORO
The Telmo Rodriguez estate in Toro is named after a Spanish breed of bull that is both elegant and powerful. The 19th century lower-case “g” typeface that appears on all the Toro wines is transformed, and modernized, by a bull horn.
Along with a few other notable winemakers, Telmo was one of the first to
rediscover vineyards of decades-old, bush-trained vineyards. He was a major force in elevating Toro to one of the most in vogue wine regions of Spain. The distinctive red soils produce a Tinto de Toro (the local clone of Tempranillo) with tremendous fruit concentration, ripeness, acidity, tannins and structure.
Dehesa Gago, like Basa for white wines, has become one of the reference points in Span for superior quality at a value price. 100% Tinto de Toro (Tempranillo), this steel-tank aged wine is generous with its deep fruit, while showing a balance seldom seen in the region.
Dehesa Gago 2005: “A stunning value is the 2005 “G” Dehesa Gago, a 100% Tinta de Toro from one of my favorite Spanish appellations … Toro. Fresh, lively, blackberry, cherry, smoke, and earth aromas jump from the glass of this dark ruby/purple-hued, rich, medium-bodied, supple-textured, luscious wine. ” 89 Wine Advocate, August 2006
